Thank You Cards

I don't know about you, but I rarely receive handwritten Thank You cards anymore.  In today's society it's so easy to send a text message, facebook or say thank you in some other super fast past manner.
A few of my high school friends and I recently got together for our annual "Girls Week".  We always exchange gifts of some sort (usually silly in nature).  I wanted to be sure and send each one of them a Thank you.

I started in my craftroom and instantly had a creative block.  I just grabbed a quick 6 x 6 paper pad I had and die cut the word thanks in pink paper using a Simon Says Die.  Now I was faced with what the heck am I going to do with it?  So I cut another one in the pink.  Again... no ideas were forming in my mind.  I was determined I was going to use these papers and I was going to make at least 2 cards.
Quick tip.  To adhere the die cut back into the cut out negative, add Thermoweb Super tape to the card base before you add the pattern paper.  The double sided adhesive will hold the die cut neatly in place.

And so, two, super simple Thank You cards were born.  These look nothing like my style and I'm still not sure I'm really happy with them, but sometimes you just have to work through those creative blocks and move on to the next thing.  I still have two more thank yous to make.  I think I'll switch paper pads. :)

It's MAMBI week at Epiphany Crafts!!!

Hello there!  So happy you stopped by to celebrate our partnership week with Me and My Big Ideas (MAMBI).  When I received my box of goodies from MAMBI, I was giddy with excitement!  Not only was the box packed to the brim with fun products, but I loved everything that was in there.  I made several layouts and cards and still have lots left for more fun projects
ECLO3a
For my first project I decided to make a layout.  In general I do not use pocket page style layouts, but the Mambi 3x4 cards made perfect layering panels for my layout.  The Epiphany Crafts Chevron Tool and Banner tool added the perfect embellishments to complete the layout.

For my second layout, I again used the 3 x 4 pocket page cards as layers.  The puffy stickers by MAMBI added just the right splash of color.

I loved the MAMBI chalkboard embellishments, which were a perfect match for my layout.
  ECLO2b
The Epiphany Crafts Heart Tool made it super simple to add matching embellishments to the page.
ECLO1
I used the pocket page style to create this paper layout.  The 3 x 4 instant cards make it really quick and easy to create a layout.
EPLO1b
I switched gears and tried to make some cards.  Remember the instant cards can make quick and easy cards, add a few Epiphany Crafts shape tools and bubble caps and your friends will have a card to cherish!
Here are a few quick and simple cards.

Silhouette Cut Settings - Silhouette Blade Settings

The one question I get asked over and over is what settings do I use to cut different types of materials.  I have a cheat sheet I cut and keep on the inside cover of the Cameo.  These are settings that have worked for me and that I have collected from various websites, etc.  Note, not all machines are equal and some settings may need "tweaked" for your machine.  Click here for a downloadable copy.   This file will print on an 8.5 x 11 (landscape).

Thinking of You Card with Silhouette Cameo/Lori Whitlock

Hello there!  It’s Lorrie here with another tutorial using Lori Whitlock Silhouette and SVG files.

Today I’m going to show you how to make this fun Mason Jar Flower Card which could be used for almost any occasion by simply changing the greeting.

In this video we will explore the Node Editing Mode as well as using the pen tool with the Silhouette Cameo or Portrait and Silhouette Studio software.  I prepared the video using the Legacy basic version of Silhouette so that no matter which version you are using, you should be able to duplicate this card.  Don't forget to stop by Lori Whitlock's blog to pick up the SVG files or the Silhouette Store to pick up the Silhouette Studio files.

Welcome to Lori Whitlock Blog Hop for August 2014

\
Hello and welcome back to another Lori Whitlock blog hop!  You're in for a treat!  There are lots of new designers on board and I, for one, cannot wait to see what they've come up with!

Did you know that not only can you shop Lori Whitlock SVGs and digi files at Lori Whitlock.com, but you can also shop for Kolette Hall digi files.

This fun spring card is a combination of Lori Whitlock's Fine and Dandy Paper Collection which she designed for Echo Park, and this fun SVG file from Kolette Hall called Doily Feather Chevron Card

You can see I didn't use the feathers, but I did use the chevron background, and doilies.   You can get more mileage from your card purchases if you can find ways to use them more than once.  Notice how different the card above looks from the original cut file, simply by changing a few layers.

Below is another take on the card, as it was designed by Kolette Hall.    Would you even notice that they are made from the exact same card cut file?

For this card I followed Kolette's template and simply added a simple "choose happy" sentiment which was a freebie by Heidi Swapp.  I used Thermoweb Icraft Deco Foils to add shiny the sentiment.

Click on the item below to find the files for the cards above in Lori's SVG shop
