Hello Handsome Layout with Thermoweb Icraft Deco Foils

Hello there!  I'm up on the Thermoweb blog today with this fun layout featuring Paper Issues Monthly Kit.   I LOVE this kit!  It's filled with so many soft and fun prints and the flip side of the papers and embellishments are bright and bold.  I had a hard time choosing which style I wanted to go with.

 I used Icraft Deco Foils and toner sheet to create this fun Hello foiled title.  Simply run a wafer thin die on a toner sheet (see video below), add foil and run through a laminator.  I also cut some stars from the toner sheet and using the same laminator method foiled those as well. 

I added lots of layers using Zots Glue Adhesive and Foam Squares by Thermoweb.

You Color My Life Beautiful Scrapbook Layout with Cricut Explore

 Many of you know I became a grandma (or Lolli) a month ago today.  This is my sweet grandson, Ace.

I had so much fun creating this layout.  It's been a long time since I've had new photos to scrap and this little man was just the inspiration I needed to get back into the craftroom and try something different.   I cut the title out of watercolor paper using my Cricut Explore.

Simple Stories Cozy Christmas and Thermoweb

 

This week Thermoweb is partnering with Simple Stories!  I had the pleasure of creating with the Cozy Christmas Collection.  In addition to the card above, I made several other projects.

  I love, love, love to make handmade Christmas Cards and Holiday packaging and with the help of my Thermoweb Adhesives and this collection, I got a jump start on a few holiday projects.
The card above was super simple.  Layer pattern papers from the Cozy Christmas collection using your Thermoweb Sticky Dot Runner.  Add chipboard ephemera using Thermoweb Foam Squares for added dimension.

The Cozy Christmas ephemera included this precut wooden snowflake background.  LOVE IT!.  I used Thermoweb Sticky Dot runner to adhere it to the card base and several Foam Squares to pop up the chipboard embellishments and stickers.

Here is a quick layout featuring lots of Cozy Christmas as Thermoweb Adhesives.  I started by layering the photo mat stack with the Sticky Dot Runner.  I popped up the actual photo with Foam Squares.  The word stickers made it super simple to add lots of fun color to the right of the photos.  The cute bow was cut on my Eclips die cutting machine.  I used Mini Glue Dots to assemble it and a bit of Super Tape to secure it to the layout.

I made this quick and easy gable box a perfect container for delivering Christmas Cookies, by simply adding some pattern papers, a ribbon and one of the 4x6 tags included in the paper collection.

I had so much fun creating this layout.  It wasn't for a design team and it wasn't for any kind of assignment, I just had a chance to play and try out some new products, stencils and techniques that I've had mulling around in my mind for awhile.

I love the Kerri Bradford Cut files.  I own several but always forget to use them.

And of course, you know I had to get the new Heidi Swapp/Becky Higgins Project life kits.  I am not a Project Lifer (yet anyways), so I wanted to find another way to use the fun 3x4 cards included in the core kits as well as some of the embellishments from the gold kit. 

It's MAMBI week at Epiphany Crafts!!!

Hello there!  So happy you stopped by to celebrate our partnership week with Me and My Big Ideas (MAMBI).  When I received my box of goodies from MAMBI, I was giddy with excitement!  Not only was the box packed to the brim with fun products, but I loved everything that was in there.  I made several layouts and cards and still have lots left for more fun projects

For my first project I decided to make a layout.  In general I do not use pocket page style layouts, but the Mambi 3x4 cards made perfect layering panels for my layout.  The Epiphany Crafts Chevron Tool and Banner tool added the perfect embellishments to complete the layout.


For my second layout, I again used the 3 x 4 pocket page cards as layers.  The puffy stickers by MAMBI added just the right splash of color.

I loved the MAMBI chalkboard embellishments, which were a perfect match for my layout.
 
The Epiphany Crafts Heart Tool made it super simple to add matching embellishments to the page.

I used the pocket page style to create this paper layout.  The 3 x 4 instant cards make it really quick and easy to create a layout.

I switched gears and tried to make some cards.  Remember the instant cards can make quick and easy cards, add a few Epiphany Crafts shape tools and bubble caps and your friends will have a card to cherish!

Epiphany Crafts - Ruby Rock It Week

Hi there!  It's Ruby Rock-it Week here at Epiphany Crafts and I had the honor of pairing Ruby Rock It "Oriental Chic" collection with my Epiphany Crafts Butterfly Tool!! 

Hello, gorgeous butterfly tool!

The Ruby Rock It Oriental Chic collection goes perfectly with the new Epiphany Crafts Butterfly tool.  The butterflies look great with the butterfly embellishments included in the kit.   Simply use different pattern papers from the collection in the butterfly tool and top with a coordinating bubble cap.  To give even more added interest, add a little stamping to the wooden embellishments.

Don't be afraid to mix and match the fun patterns in the Oriental Chic collection.

Believe in Yourself Layout

I saw this cut file by Heidi Swapp "Believe in yourself' and I just knew I needed to do a layout featuring my sweet daughter, Ashlea.

I used mostly Heidi Swapp products and a few Maggie Holmes.

Ashlea, you are so inspiring.  You amaze me every single day by your strength, your continued faith and the fact you smile through it all.  I wish you could see yourself through my eyes and the eyes of others.  You are a beautiful, talented, sweet  young woman, girlfriend, daughter and sister.  I know you will be an amazing mother one day.    You, my dear Ashlea, make me so proud to be your mother and I love that I can also call you my best friend.   Love you!  .... mom

Echo Park Getaway Collection Partner week at Thermoweb

Hello there!  As we continue with Echo Park/Thermoweb Partner week I wanted to share my project with you.  My favorite thing to do with layouts is add lots of dimension!  Thermoweb has so many options to help with the layering process.  Let me walk you through the many different adhesives I used on this layout to achieve more texture/dimension to my layout.

I was given the Echo Park "Getaway" Collection.   This collection is more of a travel/vacation themed package, but it has such awesome patterns it can be used for so much more.  I knew it was perfect to showcase these sweet pictures between Doug and my sweet dog, Katie.
Now.... how did I get all that dimension?  Thermoweb XL Runner, 3D Zots, Foam Adhesive and Small Zots.

Start by adding a few layers of paper onto the middle of the 12 x 12 base layer using your Themoweb XL Tape Runner.  Apply the adhesive more toward the middle of the papers so the edges can lift freely.   Cut photos down to size (Mine are roughly 3 x 3.5).  Adhere the two outside photos flat using the XL runner, then use Thermoweb Foam Adhesive to "pop" the middle photo up slightly.

Continue adding strips of papers and embellishments from the Echo Park Getaway Collection using a variety of Thermoweb XL Runner, Foam Adhesive and 3D Zots for different dimensions throughout the layout.  You can see on the photo below an example of the foam adhesive which was used under the pennant flags on the bottom of the layout as well as on the arrow banners above the photos.  Adhere wood veneer pieces  with Thermoweb small glue Zots.

Finish the layout by adding small rows of sewing.
Remember to try different adhesives throughout your layouts.  Add foam adhesive to sticker sheets to make them "pop" off the page rather than lie flat, 3D Zots are your best friend, don't be afraid to use them.  They are super strong and add lots of lift.

Epiphany Crafts and Hello Summer Layout featuring Heidi Swapp Favorite Things - Hybrid Layout

It's June already!  Can you believe it?  June brings summertime activities and lots of sunshine and warm days!  Which brings me to my project for the day.

Just the other day my son was outside trying to teach my golden retriever the "retrieving" part of fetch.  You would think it comes naturally, right?  Nope... she wants to fetch it, then have you chase her to get it back.  I caught this shot of him patiently working with her "Drop it" command.

I knew it was the perfect photo for my summer fun layout.

The Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Round 25 was just what I needed to add some flair buttons to my layout.  You can see above I added five flair buttons.  I also used the newly released Heidi Swapp Digital Collection called "favorite things".  Even though it's digital, I printed and cut all of the elements out using my Silhouette Cameo to create a hybrid layout.  I have the actual products, but being the hoarder I am, I just can't bear to use them...   what if I run out?!!?! 

Begin with a blank 12 x 12 paper in white.  Add watercolors to match your papers.  Using a die cut machine cut a circled background sized so that the circles are approximately 1".  Begin layering embellishments and photos.  Using the Shape Studio Round 25 tool and bubblecaps make several flair buttons to coordinate.  Place them randomly in the circle background.  Add your title and you're finished.

Love Your Selfie

Have you been playing along with Heidi Swapp's Love Your Selfie Challenge?  Check it out on Heidi's blog.  Basically, she's challenging people who are usually behind the camera to get in front of the camera and capture you!  The real you!  I have to admit... I do make sure I am in photos.  I learned when I lost my mother several years ago, the value of being in the photos.  I inherited boxes and boxes of photos and my mother was in maybe a dozen or less.  Most of the photos she was in were when she was younger, before she had kids.  They were not the mom I knew and loved.  She was very vain, never wanted her wrinkles to show, self conscience about her round cheeks, and little button nose... I thought she was beautiful!  I wish I had photos to show you the mom I remember.  Which brings me to my point.  I really don't have a problem getting into the photos... BUT.. I do know photoshop and am quite guilty of editing a wrinkle or five out, smoothing my aging skin, or fixing a blemish.  That is what this is all about.  Embracing your self, just as you were intended to be.  My kids won't notice the wrinkle on my forehead just above my nose, they won't care that my hair looks flat or that I have wrinkles under my eyes.  They will see me, Mom, the one who was there for them when they needed me, the one who taught them to ride a bike, or bake a cake.  So... get in front of the camera.  Take the photos!  It is so important and I think it's just wonderful that Heidi has been encouraging the journey.  It really is important!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day - Heidi Swapp Classes

Are you playing along with Big Picture Classes 10K challenge?  The challenge is to get 10,000 layouts posted with the hashtag "#NSD10K" today.  So fun!   I made a couple of cards, and only 1 layout.

This layout celebrates the classes I took taught by Heidi Swapp just last week.

Have you ever taken one of Heidi's classes?  If you haven't you should!  There is not only a ton of creative, awesome Heidi ideas jammed into the class, but a heartfelt message as well.  I've taken a total of 5 classes (2 different 2-day sessions) and walked away inspired to be a better person after each class.

One of the things I love about Heidi's classes is being surrounded by other Heidi groupies.  I've come to know quite a few of fellow fans through social media.  At this particular class I had the honor of meeting a few of the girls I've met through InstaGram.   Jill (who lives just a few miles from me) and Laura.  I made another friend, Joyce who I got to know in class.  It seems to me that Heidi has some of the sweetest, genuine and fun fans!  I'm sure you see sweet Maggie in the photos too.  She and Sara were so helpful and fun.  Donella was another friend that we made last year at another Heidi Class.  She is so sweet.   I also got to meet several other girls, but didn't get  a chance to get photos -   We were super busy trying to take in all of Heidi's amazing ideas.

So, keep an eye out for a Heidi class near you.  It's worth the drive, I promise you!  Oh.. and don't forget papertowel... you're going to use a lot of it!!  :)  It ain't easy making "Pretty Stuff".

Ruby Rock-It Week at Epiphany Crafts

Hello, it's Lorrie here with a fun partner project with Ruby Rock-It and Thermoweb!  This week on the Thermoweb Blog Ruby Rock-it and Thermoweb have teamed up to create some amazing projects!  Be sure and check them out all week.

 I'm excited to share this layout of my daughter and son-in-law enjoying their very first dance as man and wife.  They danced to Ray LaMontange "You are the best thing".
For my project, I am using the Ruby Rock-It East Coast Collection including the 12 x 12 Paper Collection, Finishing Pack, Foundation Cards and Small & Large Calendar pack along with my favorite Adhesive Runner the Thermo-Web XL Runner, the Thermoweb GlitterDust Photo Corners and the icing on the cake... Thermoweb Gold Glitter Dust.
First begin with one of the yellow sheets of 12 x 12 Ruby Rock-it Paper. Spray liberally with Thermoweb Gold Glitter Dust, stand back and be amazed...it's ok if you shed a tear at the shear beauty of it.  I mean, seriously, look at that shimmer!

Next using a digital die cut machine cut out a honeycomb background.  Using various pieces from the East Coast Collection begin cutting several different patterns of the honeycomb shape to fill in behind the background.  Carefully adhere the patterned honeycomb pieces using the Thermoweb XL tape runner.  Next adhere the background piece using mini glue dots or adhesive runner.  It's not necessary to cover the entire thing with adhesive, just a few strategic spots.  Now using several of the large 4 x 6 cards prepare photomats and adhere with the xl tape runner. 
Finish up by cutting a few banners and use the word letter stickers from the Ruby Rock-It East Coast Finishing Pack.
