Baby Gift Set featuring Silhouette and Lori Whitlock Cut Files

Hello!  I have a fun Baby Gift Set for you today.  I made this using Lori Whitlock cut files for both the card and the box.  (See below for links to the cut files)

It's super simple to make WOW gifts with you can personalize each one with your own touches.  I added a little bit of "chalk" look to this chalkboard by simply using a paper towel and dabbing it into my white ink pad.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and stamped in Versamark, then embossed.

For the gift box I just added a big bow, twine, a large button and a sentiment.  The sentiment is from Imaginisce My Baby Collection.

I used the chalkboard as a card, but it could easily be a table decoration or even an invitation for a baby shower.  Be sure and check Lori's SVG shop, she's got chalkboards for several different occasions.

Birthday Card with the Eclips2

 

Hello!  Just wanted to share a quick birthday card I made.  I totally hijacked a card idea by Jennifer McGuire.  Jennifer's Card was made with an acetate base and stamps and dies.  I wanted to try and make a very similar card using nothing but the eclips2. 

 

It worked!  I made the balloon shapes from a jpg I found online, added the lettering and used the Print to Cut feature on the ecal software and my eclips2 took care of the rest.   When you see a die, stamp or even a card that you'd love to make, remember, even if you don't have all the supplies, you can simply make it yourself using your digital die cutter. 

Here is a free Silhouette Cut File for this card.  The color and font is a bit different as I made this on the Eclips with Ecal and just made a similar one for the Silhouette.

 A little touch of Glossy Accents added dimension and shine to the heart on the door.  Wouldn't this be a fun gift filled with ingredients for s'mores for the camper in your life?

Hi there!  It's Ruby Rock-it Week here at Epiphany Crafts and I had the honor of pairing Ruby Rock It "Oriental Chic" collection with my Epiphany Crafts Butterfly Tool!! 

Hello, gorgeous butterfly tool!

The Ruby Rock It Oriental Chic collection goes perfectly with the new Epiphany Crafts Butterfly tool.  The butterflies look great with the butterfly embellishments included in the kit.   Simply use different pattern papers from the collection in the butterfly tool and top with a coordinating bubble cap.  To give even more added interest, add a little stamping to the wooden embellishments.

Don't be afraid to mix and match the fun patterns in the Oriental Chic collection.

Believe in Yourself Layout

I saw this cut file by Heidi Swapp "Believe in yourself' and I just knew I needed to do a layout featuring my sweet daughter, Ashlea.

I used mostly Heidi Swapp products and a few Maggie Holmes.

Echo Park Getaway Collection Partner week at Thermoweb

Hello there!  As we continue with Echo Park/Thermoweb Partner week I wanted to share my project with you.  My favorite thing to do with layouts is add lots of dimension!  Thermoweb has so many options to help with the layering process.  Let me walk you through the many different adhesives I used on this layout to achieve more texture/dimension to my layout.

I was given the Echo Park "Getaway" Collection.   This collection is more of a travel/vacation themed package, but it has such awesome patterns it can be used for so much more.  I knew it was perfect to showcase these sweet pictures between Doug and my sweet dog, Katie.
Now.... how did I get all that dimension?  Thermoweb XL Runner, 3D Zots, Foam Adhesive and Small Zots.

Start by adding a few layers of paper onto the middle of the 12 x 12 base layer using your Themoweb XL Tape Runner.  Apply the adhesive more toward the middle of the papers so the edges can lift freely.   Cut photos down to size (Mine are roughly 3 x 3.5).  Adhere the two outside photos flat using the XL runner, then use Thermoweb Foam Adhesive to "pop" the middle photo up slightly.

Continue adding strips of papers and embellishments from the Echo Park Getaway Collection using a variety of Thermoweb XL Runner, Foam Adhesive and 3D Zots for different dimensions throughout the layout.  You can see on the photo below an example of the foam adhesive which was used under the pennant flags on the bottom of the layout as well as on the arrow banners above the photos.  Adhere wood veneer pieces  with Thermoweb small glue Zots.

Finish the layout by adding small rows of sewing.
Remember to try different adhesives throughout your layouts.  Add foam adhesive to sticker sheets to make them "pop" off the page rather than lie flat, 3D Zots are your best friend, don't be afraid to use them.  They are super strong and add lots of lift.

Shaped Owl Card with Lori Whitlock SVG

Today over at Lori Whitlock's blog, I am featuring this cute owl card.   It's always fun to change up the papers and theme of a project and transform it into something totally (kind of) different.  For instance, this card looks like this in the shop (by the way, it's also available in the Silhouette online store).

But just by changing out the papers and adding a few extra details, it looks totally different.  I used the Echo Park "It's My Boy" collection and a few sheets from the Echo Park "We are Family" collection (both designed by Lori Whitlock).

School is out and graduation parties are in full swing!  I can't make enough graduation cards!  Shaker cards are very trendy now and so are sequins.  I decided to use both for my project.  Who says a masculine card can't have sequins!?!?!

I made this shaker card for a friend's son who just graduated.  Masculine cards are always a challenge, but this came together rather easily.

     I used a basic 5 x 5 square as my base, then layered up some of the "We are Family" patterned papers (designed by Lori Whitlock for Echo Park).  The "We Are Family" collection of patterned papers are so versatile.       

I printed this quote by Kolette Hall Studio from Lori's Shop right onto my cardstock.  (Hint, if you don't have an 8-1/2 x 11 piece of patterned paper to run through your printer, tape it to a regular piece of printer paper).

Create the shaker by sewing a piece of acetate on 3 sides of your card, add sequins and punchouts, then sew up the last side.  I secured with foam tape and added a simple congratulations banner

For my second project, I made this cute Camera Shaker Card.  I had some left over 3D treat cups from awhile back and they fit perfectly in the center "Shaker Part" of this camera.  Just enough room for my favorite Peanut M&Ms.  :)

Epiphany Crafts and Hello Summer Layout featuring Heidi Swapp Favorite Things - Hybrid Layout

It's June already!  Can you believe it?  June brings summertime activities and lots of sunshine and warm days!  Which brings me to my project for the day.

Just the other day my son was outside trying to teach my golden retriever the "retrieving" part of fetch.  You would think it comes naturally, right?  Nope... she wants to fetch it, then have you chase her to get it back.  I caught this shot of him patiently working with her "Drop it" command.

I knew it was the perfect photo for my summer fun layout.

The Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Round 25 was just what I needed to add some flair buttons to my layout.  You can see above I added five flair buttons.  I also used the newly released Heidi Swapp Digital Collection called "favorite things".  Even though it's digital, I printed and cut all of the elements out using my Silhouette Cameo to create a hybrid layout.  I have the actual products, but being the hoarder I am, I just can't bear to use them...   what if I run out?!!?! 

Begin with a blank 12 x 12 paper in white.  Add watercolors to match your papers.  Using a die cut machine cut a circled background sized so that the circles are approximately 1".  Begin layering embellishments and photos.  Using the Shape Studio Round 25 tool and bubblecaps make several flair buttons to coordinate.  Place them randomly in the circle background.  Add your title and you're finished.

Thermoweb Zots & Glitter - Oh My! - Candle Holders

Hello again!  It's Lorrie here and this week on the Thermoweb Blog we've been featuring Tips and Tricks using the Thermoweb Zots.  As soon as I heard the theme for the week, I knew I wanted to use glitter and Zots.  I debated on whether to make a card using the zots and blue glitter to make raindrops, or perhaps zots and glitter on a picture frame?  There are endless possibilities.  Finally I decided to try candle holders.

I'll be honest.  Originally I thought I'd try to put the Zots right on the candles, and while it can be done, it's a bit tricky because of the waxiness of the candle to keep them in perfect circles.  Adding the Zots to the glass candle holders was a cinch.
Here is everything you need.  I found the candles and candle holders at the Dollar Tree.  Thermoweb Zots, Thermoweb Super Tape and Glitter!  Super easy.  Oh.... and if you have a significant other in your house like mine who isn't exactly as big of a glitter fan as I am, you may want something to protect your kitchen counter (and new kitchen rug)... just sayin'....keep the peace :)
Simply create your design by adding the Thermoweb Zots to the glass in the desired pattern.  I used Medium Zots here, but the small would be super cute as well.

I also created a striped pattern using the Thermoweb Super Tape.

Next, simply add glitter.  It helps if you press the glitter into the Zot or Super Tape with your finger before pouring off the excess.  I also found having a dry paint brush to brush away the excess glitter to be helpful.

This is a close up of the ZOT candle holder.  I love, love, love Gold Glitter.  It's so trendy right now.


Think outside the box and go "ZOT" something.  The world needs more Zots and Glitter!
