Valentine Cards

I'm still messing around with Snowmanlover's card kit. I can't believe how many cards you can make out it. I also am joining in on Kelley's challenge to use at least one cut on my cartridges by April 15th. So in the spirit of the challenge I used Animal Kingdom, Walk in My Garden and Doodlecharms on the following cards

My Project 365 Digital Layouts

Some of you follow my Project 365 blog, but for those of you who don't, I thought I'd post my weekly layouts. I've decided to do them digitally, two pages for each week. I stick to one color scheme per month. This is just to date of January.. (and yes... I'm growing tired of this set of colors). For those of you who may not know what a project 365 is, it's a challenge to take a photo a day for 365 days and document it. I am blogging as well as making layouts for a book. Anyway.. I thought since I haven't been posting many cards/layouts lately, I'd post my digital ones as that's where I've been spending my free time lately. If you're interested in my Project 365 blog, click HERE or you can click my link on the sidebar. You can double click any image to see it larger.

Valentines

I bought a great card kit that Snowmanlover put together. I've still got enough supplies left to make a lot more cards, but here's the first four I've put together. If you'd like to pick up this awesome kit, check out Snowmanlover's blog to order your own Stampin' Up Valentine Card Kit.

The dress choices

Well for those of you who follow my 365 blog you know that we went dress shopping and I said I'd post more pictures of the backs and fronts of the different dresses... so here ya go....

This was dress #3.... it was beautiful. Very traditional, very heavy and formal

This was dress #2... the picture really does not do it justice. The people in the store were commenting how pretty it was. It was sophisticated and fresh looking with the drop beaded waist. Very untraditional, with a short train

And dress #1.. the one that's her favorite. It is very pretty. They put a cathedral veil on with it that has just a hint of sparkle on it and really accentuates the buttons that go all the way down the back and down the train. It is a beautiful dress. Again, all the dresses are much prettier in person... the pictures just don't catch the essence of each dress. Also, the dresses at this store to try on are pretty much all the same size so they just pin them up (or clamp) to fit you, this dress is a size 12 and Ashlea is a size 4-6... so it looks a bit too big in the front

That is not her train behind her in the photo below. There's another "bride" trying on gowns behind her. We made friends with them. She was also a gorgeous bride to be. I kept giving her my opinion... (which I'm sure she LOVED!!! LOL) I couldn't help myself!

My last class for this session

Here's the final class assignment in my Now We're Rockin' with Photoshop class. This layout is of my daughter, we went wedding dress shopping yesterday... for those of you who are following my 365 blog, this gives it away (I had them guessing which dress she chose of the three). This is just early stage shopping, but I wanted to do something with the bajillion photos I took yesterday. This is just her favorite from yesterday.

Another Digi Class Completed

I finished another one of my digi classes... this one had sooooo many techniques in it, I think I'm going to have to rewatch it to make sure I retain it all.

Ginger's Birthday

My Sister-in-Law has a birthday next week. I made this card for her using the Paisley cartridge. It's a different owl than the other one. There's soo many cute images on this cartridge.

Cricut Challenge

I put a challenge on the Cricut messageboard today to grab an image cartridge and make something with the 2nd button from the left, third row down, so when I got home from work, I did just that. The picture doesn't show the bling. The Bee is white glitter letters. This picture is my daughter and her (gulp) fiance'.

Country Sweet

Just finished this layout of my daughter. It's really nice muted country colors, but the lighting in the craft room at night is not the greatest and that's where I took the photo.

I have been having a ball today using my scraps. I literally stepped outside my box and tried this. I reached into my scrap drawer, took out a stack of scraps, sorted out a few that kind of matched... then I grabbed a piece of paper to use as background and just started building a layout including the mat for the photo. THEN I went to my photo box and found one to add to it. Absolutely opposite from my normal method. I like how it turned out. I need to add my journaling, but I was so excited, I forgot! lol Anyway, my scrap drawer is growing daily so I may use this method again, it was fun.

Alex's Senior Album

This is my favorite photo of Alex. I made this layout for his senior album. I just love his eyes, you can look right into them in this photo. We really had an awesome photographer. The picture doesn't do justice..

Full of Hope

Just spent the morning doing one of my digi classes... here's the layout I completed. This is my mother when her hair was just coming back in after her first round of chemo/radiation. She was so hopeful for a bright future at this point. She thought she was over the hurdle.

Changed my blog background... Think SPRING!

So I changed my blog again... tell me if you think it's too busy. I've had enough snow and winter to last me a lifetime! LOL We've got about 20 some inches of snow on the ground now... so I changed my blog to happy springy thoughts... Those of you in the Michiana Region know what I'm talkin' about. This is just ridiculous... Plow the drive, shovel the walks... snow... plow the drive, shovel the walks... snow... get the "drift"..hee heee!

Paisley Cards

I watched Creations with Christina's video on the Paisley card, thought I'd take a look, Paisley is currently my favorite cartridge. Anyway.. here's a couple of the cards from the Paisley Cartridge both cut at 4-1/4" which will cut out of an 8-1/2" x 11 piece of cardstock. I really like how they tri fold together and tuck into the tab.

Mushroom Card

My poor Lorrie's Story blog has been neglected. I've been working on my digital stuff and my Project 365 blog... so I thought I owed her a new post... here it is. My mushroom card... I thought it was cute.. but what the heck do you say inside a mushroom card? LOL It's really bright colors, but this new camera is not impressing me. I got a new small camera to carry in my purse.. I think I like my big one better.

My Senior

I scrapped all day today with my girlfriends... I've been focusing on my son because he's a senior and I want to have his books ready for his senior open house party this spring. The pictures aren't great, it's dark out and the lighting inside is so so. I'll retake better photos tomorrow. These are very simple basic layouts. I really wanted the photo to be the focus, these are his senior pictures so used large photos and I did not do much embellishing.
