Pumpkin Rosette with Lori Whitlock Silhouette/SVG files

 Hello there! 

Can you believe it's September already?  Kids are back to school and fall is just around the corner, which got me thinking about pumpkins!

 This pumpkin was made using an SVG file by Lori Whitlock called "Build a Rosette".    (Item # 32782 in the Silhouette Store)

For the top of my pumpkin I used the Fall Leaves (Silhouette File 20959). 

The beauty of making this pumpkin with the Sizzix Eclips2 is that all the scoring is done for you as the file cuts.  The Eclips makes true score lines, so folding is a snap!

To make this pumpkin simply choose a rosette style and cut the following sizes:

Two 12 x 2
Four 12 x 2.25
Four 12 x 2.5
Four 12 x 2.75
Two 12 x 3

Use two strips end to end to create 1 rosette.  You will have two rosettes the same size of the 2.25, 2.5, 2.75.    Begin stacking the rosettes according to your liking.  I used the smallest on the bottom and worked my way up with one of each size up to the 3", then started stacking in reverse decreasing as I got to the top.


I was thinking an apple for the teacher would be a super fun gift!  Or how about a pineapple for a tropical party?  The possibilities are endless!

Baby Gift Set featuring Silhouette and Lori Whitlock Cut Files

Hello!  I have a fun Baby Gift Set for you today.  I made this using Lori Whitlock cut files for both the card and the box.  (See below for links to the cut files)

It's super simple to make WOW gifts with you can personalize each one with your own touches.  I added a little bit of "chalk" look to this chalkboard by simply using a paper towel and dabbing it into my white ink pad.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and stamped in Versamark, then embossed.

For the gift box I just added a big bow, twine, a large button and a sentiment.  The sentiment is from Imaginisce My Baby Collection.

I used the chalkboard as a card, but it could easily be a table decoration or even an invitation for a baby shower.  Be sure and check Lori's SVG shop, she's got chalkboards for several different occasions.

This box was made using acetate and the Silhouette Cameo!  I used a blade of 6, speed of 3 and  thickness of 25.  Worked like a charm!

Epiphany Crafts and Hello Summer Layout featuring Heidi Swapp Favorite Things - Hybrid Layout

It's June already!  Can you believe it?  June brings summertime activities and lots of sunshine and warm days!  Which brings me to my project for the day.

Just the other day my son was outside trying to teach my golden retriever the "retrieving" part of fetch.  You would think it comes naturally, right?  Nope... she wants to fetch it, then have you chase her to get it back.  I caught this shot of him patiently working with her "Drop it" command.

I knew it was the perfect photo for my summer fun layout.

The Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Round 25 was just what I needed to add some flair buttons to my layout.  You can see above I added five flair buttons.  I also used the newly released Heidi Swapp Digital Collection called "favorite things".  Even though it's digital, I printed and cut all of the elements out using my Silhouette Cameo to create a hybrid layout.  I have the actual products, but being the hoarder I am, I just can't bear to use them...   what if I run out?!!?! 

Begin with a blank 12 x 12 paper in white.  Add watercolors to match your papers.  Using a die cut machine cut a circled background sized so that the circles are approximately 1".  Begin layering embellishments and photos.  Using the Shape Studio Round 25 tool and bubblecaps make several flair buttons to coordinate.  Place them randomly in the circle background.  Add your title and you're finished.

Color Inspiration week at Epiphany Crafts - Pinwheels!

 

Hello there!  It's Lorrie here again today with a second post.  This one is for Epiphany Crafts.  We were given the challenge to use the above color inspiration to create a project using out favorite Epiphany Crafts products.

Ta Daaaa!  I  Love Color Challenges and usually don't go quite so literal, but as soon as I saw the photo, I knew I wanted to make pinwheels.

 

I used the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Round 14 tool, bubble caps and brads to connect the centers of each of my pinwheels.

 I love, love, love how these turned out!

Ruby Rock-It Week at Epiphany Crafts

Hello, it's Lorrie here with a fun partner project with Ruby Rock-It and Thermoweb!  This week on the Thermoweb Blog Ruby Rock-it and Thermoweb have teamed up to create some amazing projects!  Be sure and check them out all week.

 I'm excited to share this layout of my daughter and son-in-law enjoying their very first dance as man and wife.  They danced to Ray LaMontange "You are the best thing".
For my project, I am using the Ruby Rock-It East Coast Collection including the 12 x 12 Paper Collection, Finishing Pack, Foundation Cards and Small & Large Calendar pack along with my favorite Adhesive Runner the Thermo-Web XL Runner, the Thermoweb GlitterDust Photo Corners and the icing on the cake... Thermoweb Gold Glitter Dust.
First begin with one of the yellow sheets of 12 x 12 Ruby Rock-it Paper. Spray liberally with Thermoweb Gold Glitter Dust, stand back and be amazed...it's ok if you shed a tear at the shear beauty of it.  I mean, seriously, look at that shimmer!

Next using a digital die cut machine cut out a honeycomb background.  Using various pieces from the East Coast Collection begin cutting several different patterns of the honeycomb shape to fill in behind the background.  Carefully adhere the patterned honeycomb pieces using the Thermoweb XL tape runner.  Next adhere the background piece using mini glue dots or adhesive runner.  It's not necessary to cover the entire thing with adhesive, just a few strategic spots.  Now using several of the large 4 x 6 cards prepare photomats and adhere with the xl tape runner. 
Finish up by cutting a few banners and use the word letter stickers from the Ruby Rock-It East Coast Finishing Pack.

Little Princess Line from Imaginisce

Introducing the Little Princess line by Imaginisce!  I've had this product for awhile now, but couldn't use it until they had the official product reveal at Imaginisce.  Tadaaaaa!  Here it is!  This is just the cutest collection, especially if you have a sweet little princess in your life.

I created a birthday card with the fun cupcake stamp.  You can't tell by the photo too well, but the Happy Birthday is a white sparkly cardstock and the cupcake has the same sparkle on it.

Step Cards Anyone??

 

Hi there!  I'm so excited to show you these fun Step Cards created using Lori Whitock's Step Cards from her SVG Shop and the Silhouette Shop.  The step cards really pack a wow factor and no one will ever know how easily they go together.

There are so many possibilities with these card bases.

 It's graduation season and this simple graduation card with quick and easy and can also be used as a table decoration at the grad party.

I made this one for a friend.  We enlarged it as big as we could to fit it on a 12 x 12 mat.  The final card was about 11" tall.  She's going to use it for a table decoration at her daugthers grad party to represent the college she's going to on a volleyball scholarship.

For my first project I wanted to make this super fun Easter Basket/Card set.

It's super easy using the SVG files from Lori Whitlock and the Silhouette.  I used the Recollections "the Create Collection" paper stack for the embellishments.

I Choose Happy

Hello there!  I love the freebie Heidi Swapp is offering on her blog that says "I choose happy".  I just had to use it on a layout.  Using my Silhouette, I cut it out three times and layered it to add some depth.

I used the Welcome Spring collection by Imaginisce for the papers and most of the embellishments.  This collection has been my "go to" lately.  It's so happy, bright and fits so many occasions.

Silhouette Tutorial - How to Print and Cut

Hello everyone.  I've got another tutorial for you.  This one came from a question a reader asked.  The question was "How do you print and cut an image from the Silhouette store".  It's a two-part question.  There are both PNC (Print and Cut) and (Cut only) images in the Silhouette store.  Both can be both printed and cut using the Silhouette software.  This video explains the difference.

Hello and thanks for stopping by.  Lately I've been making lots and lots of Hybrid Elements.  What are hybrid elements?  It's an element that is made with a combination of digital files and real paper products.  The Silhouette Cameo and Portrait make this so easy and fun!   All of the elements on this card were printed on my printer, then cut on the Silhouette.  I also cut the elements in Chipboard, so they are nice and sturdy.


I made a video for those of your who would like to try this with your favorite digital files.

For my Lori Whitlock Valentine Project, I knew instantly I wanted to use the Echo Park Love Story digital collection which Lori created.   Love Story is a super fun Valentine kit which is suitable for all ages of Valentine projects.

 

 I created a template in Photoshop and made mini Hershey nugget candybar wrappers, which I simply printed, cut and then wrapped around the candy.  

Of course, every gift needs some cute packaging!  I used Lori Whitlock's Sihouette cutting file for this cute little candybox.
