Life's a Beach...

My son has spent the summer at the beach. This is the summer before his Senior Year begins.

He's got a great group of friends, they always hang out in a group,

none of these are boyfriend/girlfriend.. just a bunch of great friends

As usual, I went back and added some seagulls in the sky... kind of finished it off, but I didn't retake the photo....

A Halloween Card - Dripppy Goo

Had to try out that Drippy Goo punch and post a card on Snowmanlover's Halloween Thread Challenge.. here's what I came up with. I did add some bling. A bit of stickles on the hat and on the moon, but I didn't retake the photo, as usual... afterall, even a dog has to have her bling!

A Bia Book

A group of classmates and I have started a new tradition, we gather for a weekend and have a Girls Night Out Weekend. One comes from Florida, One from Chicago, One from a small town about an hour away and the other three of us are local. We spend a night one night going to our old stomping grounds to meet up with more classmates and friends, then we take a day to do girly stuff, last year we went and got pedicures, went to a winery, a bit of shopping.. this year We've decided to take a train ride into Chicago and spend the day shopping, eating and seeing the sights. Anyway (I got sidetracked) at the end of our weekend, of course we have all these photos, last year we did a "Speed Scrap" session on the last day and made mini books to take home as momentos of our weekend, this year I thought I'd try the bia.. here's what I came up with - I did not embellish them as I thought that each girl would embellish her own, but here's the basic book

Updated the Blog and other uninteresting news lol

Well I updated the blog background again.. still not sold on this one.. but it's kinda fun. I lost my little tabs at the top :(... I tried to add them back in, but there's something about this template that they just weren't jiving with. Let me know what you think.

On to other news... my Stampin' Up! order came today. I got the new In Color Markers, three of the Designer Paper Packs, the assorted cardstock and a set of stamps... wooohoo.. wasn't in the mood to use them today, but still excited to get them. Thanks Barb! I love all of it!

Further news... I'm down to the last two kittens. (Which I'm keeping...sssshhhh Doug still thinks we're only keeping one.. ).. We've named the two new baby girls Lacey and Lily... isn't that cuuuuttteeee!!!?? :) They are sooo sweet. My daughter's boyfriend took one of the other kittens and he brought her over for a playdate with her sisters tonight... too funny. I'm so going to be a crazy grandma!

So.. As Al Roker says.. that's what's going on in my corner of the world.. what's going on in yours?

Camera... lights... Action

Well I was looking at my camera and I noticed.. A) the lense was filthy... B) the setting that I always have on "AUTO" had been moved to some other setting that I don't even know what it's for... and C) well there really isn't a C, but you should never have an A & B without a C, right?!? Well anyway.. the moral of this story is I think I figured out why I've been having such crappy photos.. they have been blurry and just not good... DUH...Lorrie.. sometimes I wonder about you!!!!?!?!

Anywho... stay tuned.. hopefully future photos will be better.. I really do have a nice camera.. I wondered why I suddenly couldn't get a decent photo.. or maybe I was just trying to blur those wrinkles away... lol

I did it.. I made a joy fold card. Well I didn't plan what to put on it and it's kinda blah.. but I did it! :)

This one was fun, but I think I should've made the layered scallops larger. I went up 1/4" increments for the 2nd and 3rd scallop.. maybe I should've went up 1/2"... used Storybook for those scallops BTW

The stamp didn't come out very good on this... not sure I'm liking that color at all.. but I did like the doodles on the scallop..

Just messin' around throwing some stuff together.. not even using the good paper.. lol This was a wildcard card.. and I for some reason had the fit to page button on.. so its a huge card... 7-3/4 I think!

Here's my layout of my son.  I am still in the process of scanning the photos of him so I don't have near as many to work with.  My kids were pre-digital cameras... so I have to scan everything for a backup.. I know.. why do I need a backup... well.. I just do!  lol

This is the second layout I did.  I totally scraplifted the ladybug with the picture from Barb...aka.. The Snowmanlover.  I thought that was such a cute idea.  Anyway.. here's my version...

This past Saturday my girlfriend, Jodie, invited me to scrap with her.  We scrapped the day away and had a lot of fun!  Here's some of the things we did.  The first one is "You are my sunshine".  This was the last layout I did for the day....

I changed my blog

Well I spent the afternoon searching for a new blog background and header.. this is what I came up with.  It's not exactly what I was looking for, but I think I like it.  The cherries were fun... but were getting very popular... what do you think.. the cherries or this one?

I did three cards today.. one is VERY similar to the other Father's Day card I did, but Doug wanted one for his father... the second is a graduation card for my Nephew.. and the last one is a card for my daughter's boyfriend. He works at a concrete pipe making place.. so I know it looks juvenile.. but it's kind of a joke... the inside reads... Get the concrete out of your ears and listen up.... Have a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We're always teasing him about the ....well.. you get it... ! LOL

One for my Christmas Past Album

OK.. so I added a couple more.. so much fun to look at these old photos

Last year my girlfriend had all her scrapping friends over.. she bought us each a red 8 x 8 album, a pad of 8 x 8 DCWV Christmas Paper and all we were each to bring was Christmas Photos and an assortment of Christmas Embellies.... she had this article "How to Scrap 40 photos in 4 hours".  It was fun.. you spend so much time cropping your photos.. then you spend so much time just laying out photos.. then the last thing you do is go back and embellish all your pages... I ended up going back later and doing more and most didn't get 40 pictures done.. but it was so much fun.. we laughed and we were all stressed out about the timer going off...

Anyway.. I don't have to time to post them all now.. but here's a few of my favorite layouts from the book
