Thank You

I made a quick thank you for Doug's family for the Easter goodies.  I made this from the templates that we had from a class, it's very similar to one I made earlier, I just changed the direction

Mouse Paper Scissors - MOM

This picture shows the color more true to life
Well you guessed it.. I'm in another class!  Heidi Swapp and Jessica Sprague teamed up again for an amazing 2 week Mouse Paper Scissors - Mom class.  This is our first project!  I love, love, love it.  I will post more photos once I finish up the inside... the picture really doesn't begin to do it justice..that ruffle is all glittery as is the cover... I'll have to try some other shots in different light and see if I can catch it.   The papers are gorgeous (all digital, of course) by Bo Bunny.

You are SEW nice

This card was a lot of fun!! I don't know if you can tell or not, but the background paper is from Stampin'Up and it actually looks like a pattern.

Thinking of You

I thought this was just a fun, bright card.  The original layout isn't mine, it's from a card class, I just flipped it around a little.

Thank You

A simple thank you card.  I very RARELY use primas..... they just never look right on my stuff.  I am still not so sure about this one!  LOL

Happy Easter

This is one of the dress cards using the Stampin' Up large scallop circle tutorial.  I used a Nestability instead, but it worked out.  I also didn't use the tab punch for my purse, instead I used the curly label.

Just a fun thank you card using my new Stampin'up owl stamp and punch. Love that set.

Weightloss...... update

Well I haven't posted about the weightloss for awhile. I weighed myself a couple of times and weighed the exact same, even though my clothes were/are continuing to fit differently each day. So I layed off weighing for awhile and you know what... as of yesterday I'm down 14 pounds! Yay! The beauty of it for me is it's been more of a life style change rather than a diet. I have changed my breakfast routine and lunch routine and still eat what I want for dinner. On the weekend I usually bake something fun and I eat it when I want. I really believe it's all about the portion control and not depriving your body of this or that.

Trying to find my Mojo!!!

It's been awhile since I just sat down and made cards and I had such a hard time getting started when I didn't have any "objective". Anyway... these are very simple.

Thank You - Challenge Entry

This is the card I submitted for my "challenge" over at Jessica Sprague.  At the end of our Mouse Paper Scissors class she issued a challenge to create a card using 1 of four Photoshop lessons we learned and Heidi requested we use 1 of a list 4 things she taught us (though we learned a lot more than 4 for both Photoshop and Hybrid).  So... for my Photoshop portion, you have the curly label which was pink, I recolored it and added a digital brush to the label.  For my Hybrid portion you have the ruffle made from tissue paper, the glimmer misted leaf element (both on the list of four things we had to use).  Winner of this entry (which is a random winner, not a best card or anything) gets a free class at Jessica Sprague! Woot Woot!

Happy Birthday!

This was just a card for a challenge in Photoshop.  We had certain criteria we had to incorporate and this was going to be my entry.... but you'll see above, I changed it.. shocking, I know!  LOL   This is just too one dimensional for me.

I'm so excited!

Recognize this?  Woot Woot!  I am soooo excited.  I made the home page of JessicaSprague.com!!!  That is my mirror project!!!!  Ya that's right...me.. !  LOL  I'm famous!   Heee heee!   Really thought, I was so excited when I clicked on Jessicasprague.com as I do everyday and I saw my project from our class on the home page!!!  Wooohoooo!  Made my night! :)

Mouse Paper Scissors - Mirror

This was soooo much fun!   We have had journaling assignments everyday during the five week class.  Sometimes they were silly, sometimes more thoughtful.  We didn't know what we were going to do with all this, but Heidi and Jessica kept telling us.. keep writing!   Well here it is.  This mirror has been decoupaged with all of my journaling for the last five weeks.   There is also a wooden easel that holds the mirror, but I haven't completed it yet, I am still trying to decide what color.  I may change my banner on this, so I don't want to color my easel just yet. Love, love, love this project!  Sadly it's our last week.  I am going to miss it!!!

Thank You Hybrid Card

This is a hybrid card.  I used Cosmo Cricket Digital Papers and a template from the Mouse Paper Scissors class and a piece of ledger paper from my personal stash for the inside.  The Peanutbutter cookies were purely for creative motivation! :)

Your Friendship Warms My Heart

The Inside

Just a quick card I made this morning.  I used what I had left of the Daily Junque paper from Pink Paislee.  I love that paper!!!  The ribbon is seam binding that I colored with Tattered Angels Chaulk ink.  How fun!  Heidi Swapp taught us that technique in our class.

Mouse Paper Scissors - Happy Book

I've been a bad blogger as of late.  My son, Alex, has been home from College for the week (Spring Break), so instead of having my face glued to the computer all week, I've been enjoying seeing his gorgeous face.  Also keeping me busy has been the Spague classes.  This was the latest project we made in the Mouse Paper Scissors class.  The assignment was to make it for yourself, as a reminder of the little things that make you happy in your life, but I made mine for a friend.  All of the papers on this book were digital papers and 90% of the elements were digital as well.  It's really bright and cheery.  The photos don't show how cute it is.  :)

Mouse Paper Scissors - Thank you Album

This was so much fun to make.  Again it's from the Mouse Paper Scissors class and most of the items came in our kits.  The papers we made digitally and printed.  You can't really see it, but it's a clear cover and all of the pockets have fun little goodies in them.  I didn't take a photo of all of the inserts.. you can put gift cards, notes, the large pocket has a card in it, the next one down has a pull out in it that says "You are so fabulous".. etc, etc.  Really, really fun.  Heidi and Jessica really knocked this class out of the park.  I LOVE it!

Miss You Card - Mouse Paper Scissors

This is yet another version of the class card template.  I love this layout.  The papers are from Houseof3...

Digi in Deeper Lesson 10 - Nap Time

Another layout.  Lesson 10.  This one took me two hours.  When I first saw the photo of what we were going to be doing, I thought this one is easy... but again.  Almost all the elements are hand made in class, not jpgs you just import.  I am really learning a lot in this class.

Digi in Deeper Lesson 8 - Hammock

Though it may not look like it, this layout took me forever!  It's lesson 9 in our Jessica Sprague class and there are so many techniques going on this that it takes awhile.  You have to extract the lace from a scan, extract the burlap, create the ticket from scratch, create the water color painted edges on the photo, etc, etc, etc.

Weigh In Friday

I did weigh myself on Friday, but forgot to post.  I've lost a total of 10 pounds and have decided to go for 17 total, so I've got 7 more to go.  Really not doing anything in particular differently other than eating a sensible breakfast and lunch and for dinner I eat what I want, but still watch the portions.  I did make cookies yesterday, and had a couple and we went out for breakfast which isn't usual, so today I will be extra good. :)

Mouse Paper Scissors and Heidi Swapp Cookies! :)

Made this card with the same template just because I'm bored at the moment.  Also, Heidi Swapp shared her secret Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe with the class... had to try... they are YUMMY!!!!

Mouse Paper Scissors - Project #2

Both of the above cards were printed on white cardstock. All of the pattern paper is digitally created as well as the embellishments (with the exception of the ribbon)

Really love this type of class. Reminds me a lot of Jessica Spragues card class with the added benefit of Heidi Swapp.

A little about Heidi Swapp. She's been so awesome. She's on our forum messageboard daily, she talks with everyone and has the most wonderful sense of humor.. can you tell I'm a fan?? Really, I highly recommend this class or any class by Heidi and/or Jessica.

Digi in Deeper Lesson 7 - Flower Girl

Here's the something more.. :) I couldn't figure out below. Jessica added some new brushes to the class downloads.. that was exactly what the layout below was missing! She's so awesome!

We've switched gears from FreeStyle to Shabby Chic style. This layout needs something more, but not sure what. I tried a few things, but they just didn't "do it" for me.

This isn't just any Meatloaf!!!

Let me start by saying, I am not a meatloaf kinda girl.
Those men.. (you know who they are) who take COLD MEATLOAF
throw it on a couple slices of bread with Ketchup...just freak me out!

I just never really enjoyed meatloaf. No reason really. I'm the same way with hamburgers.. I think it's just ground beef in general. That being said, let me just say this...

This meatloaf is awesome! I mean really, really GOOD

Preheat your oven to 350 and give this recipe a try!!

This recipe is brought to you via my new cookbook "The Pioneer Woman Cooks - Recipes from an accidental country girl". You know the Pioneer Woman? I was first introduced to her through her Photoshop Tutorials and awesome actions... who knew she cooks and has her own cookbook... check out her blog HERE.

I highly suggest you get her recipe book.  We sort of collect recipe books and this one is unlike any I've ever had.  It's a story about Ree and her family and their ranch along with their everyday, doable recipes.  It's got a lot of fun little tidbits throughout and you'd swear she is in your kitchen right beside you sharing a cup of coffee and shooting the breeze with you,

Click on her cookbook below to be taken directly to this recipe.. You won't regret it!

Mouse Paper Scissors - PROJECT #1

.

Is this not the cutest?
This was our first Project in Mouse Paper Scissors
Wouldn't this make a great teachers gift or
a gift for a friend?
Isn't that paper awesome?  It's all part of the class kit.

See that ribbon?  That was white, we painted it with
the Tattered Angels Chalk Paint... cute, eh?

The ribbon flower wasn't part of the class, but I'm
totally stuck on these so I added one on.

Mouse, Paper, Scissors!!!

I signed up to take a class with Jessica Sprague and Heidi Swapp.. (I know.. shocking, right?)  LOL  It's called Mouse, Paper, Scissors.  Anyway.. this isn't just any 'ole class, it's a Hybrid class.  You want to know the best part?  You get a box of goodies to use for the projects!   A box of goodies hand picked by Heidi and Jessica!  Here's my box.  Have you ever seen a more fun selection of Goodies!  Wow!  Love, Love, Love this!!

There are so many fun things in here.  A mirrored frame (wonder what we're doing with that?), a easel...hmmmm?, Tombow, new paper that isn't even released yet, Tattered Angels, ribbons, can't wait to see what's to come!

Ribbon Flower

I made this cute ribbon flower per Rhonna Farrars instructions, I used ribbon instead of the paper printed fabric.  Isn't it cute?  I put a pin on the back so I can put it on just about anything, but I thought it was really cute on this scarf.  I'm going to try and make a necklace like the ones in Anthropologie.  Wish  me luck.

Weigh in Friday

Well today I weighed and I am down 7.5 pounds... I feel a bit better, but still really need to lose the other ten, but I'll take it.  I have been eating a lot of fruit (grapes, melon and pineapple) this week and snacking on pretzels for my salt fix.  For dinner I'm eating whatever we have.. chili, burger, pork chops, etc., the only difference being I'm not going back for seconds and trying to be reasonable on the first serving.  So.. 7.5 pounds is a start.  How are you doing?

Digi in Deeper Lesson 6

Let me just say.. my least favorite lesson so far.  Totally do not like this whatsoever.  First of all I don't like the photo adjustments on the color.. It's called cross processing... looks weird in my book, and secondly, I adjusted the overall color scheme to match my Notre Dame Theme... (blue and gold).. ugh.. and thirdly, my skyline of Notre Dame is way to bare... but you have to post the bad along with the good.. right.
