Heidi Swapp Memory File Adventure Continues....

I am still working on the Heidi Swapp Memory File Adventure.  This is a continuation of the last section I posted... I AM, I CHOOSE, I DREAM, I LOVE and I HOPE .  This particular page will focus on I HOPE.  I made the photostack (on the bottom right) to journal my hopes.

This is where I will journal my hopes for the future, for my life, for my children.  I will probably add some photos as well in the photostack.

This is just a filler page.  I didn't want to put one of the title there since the peek-a-boo shows LOVE THIS.

Just a close up view of some of the details.  I used a photo behind the framed photo to add some interest.    The frame is by Maggie Holmes, I just love her line mixed with the Heidi Swapp line.  You can buy Maggie Holmes from Whimsey Girl, Heidi Swapp is available at Scrapping Clearly and Whimsey Girl

Maggie Holmes Thank You Card

My awesome friend, Kathryn aka WhimseyGirl, is a retailer of Maggie Holmes products.  She recently sent me quite an assortment of her products to play with it, and let me just say.... SO PRETTY!  If you haven't had a chance to score this very soft, whimsical line, RUN over to Kathryn's blog and order now!  CHA's new releases are coming out in September, and it will be hard to find the current line.  Also, you can get a 12 x 12 paper pad from Michaels that perfectly matches all the super cute embellishments.    Keep watching for several more product samples, I have lots of ideas in mind!

Heidi Swapp Memory File Adventure . . . Still Going

So the Memory File Adventure continues.  I apologize for all the layouts of "ME", but that's what the prompts are.  This section is "I AM, I DREAM, I HOPE"  I just completed "I AM".

I kept the front cover pretty simple.  I love the yellows in this collection! So bright and happy

Inside is more of a Vintage Vibe.  I feel like it didn't quite go in the direction I planned.

I find it difficult to write about myself.  Do you?  Why is it so hard to say something nice about ourself?  It makes me feel very self conscience.

Next section is "I DREAM".  I will have to think about how I want to approach that one!

Sweet Dreams

This is another layout from my Scrap-in.  On this layout I used a little of Sugar Chic and some No Limits.  I snapped this cute photo of my son this weekend.  Katie just loves to have him home.

Simply Family

I made this layout last night at Michaels Scrap-In.  Did you know on the first Saturday of every month from 3-9 Michaels has a Scrap-In?  You can go to Michaels and use their machines (Cricut, Spellbinder, Cuttlebug, Xyron) and all of their punches, stamps, etc. and just scrap for just $5.  I am technically the Scrapbook instructor at our Michaels, but I am no longer teaching classes.  Just hosting the Scrap-in.  I've met some very fun ladies and once a month we scrap together.

Anyway, I have been introducing the ladies to Heidi Swapp products!!  They love all of the ColorPop and ColorShine.  They had no idea what it was until they saw me spraying, wiping and suddenly, I had them all watching.  Needless to say, they all left the first night with some ColorMagic Butterflies and Colorshine.  Last night, they bought more ColorMagic (Hearts and Arrows), and then they noticed the paper pads.  Yes, you guessed it!  They all left with either Sugar Chic or No Limits paper pads as well.
I just love both collections of papers.  I am not really good at packing to crop on the go, but with the Sugar Chic Paper Pad and the No Limits pad, I am in pretty good shape no matter what I'm scrapping.  I also love that all of the embellishments are included in the pad.

Heidi Swapp - My Craft Channel Card

Do you watch Heidi Swapp's My Craft Channel shows every Wednesday?  I do!  This past Wednesday, she introduced this simple card using color magic paper and color shine with a doily.  I added some seam binding and changed the embellishments from hers but the concept is the same.  I used Dylusional spray ink for this yummy  electric green color.  The stamp is by Papertrey Ink.  Butterflies are by Heidi Swapp.

Thanks for looking

Another digital/hybrid card using Maggie Holmes digital kit

This is another card I made using the digital papers and elements available from Maggie Holmes digital kit.  I put this together very quickly after importing the elements into the Silhouette, printing then cutting.  It's a very happy & bright card.

Heidi Swapp Memory File Adventure - Still Going

I am finished with this section with the exception of journaling.  I have two different large spaces left to add "my story".
I filled the clear pockets with a mixture of photos, quotes and just a plain tag and some sequins.  The sequins are all pushed up to the side in the photo, but they are loose in the pocket and move freely.
This is just a flip open flap and a little of this and that to add some interest.

As you can see, I have space left to journal on the inside of the flap and to the right of the photo.  I may add some more embellishments to this after I finish writing.  I also have a large space to journal in under the flap you saw in the prior post.

On to the next section!

Heidi Swapp Memory File Adventure continued

I started working on my Heidi Swapp Memory File Adventure again.  I interpreted this section ias celebrating YOU, Today.  It's important to document you.  I often wish I had more photos of my mother, because like most moms, she was always behind the camera.  I used to be very shy about having my photo taken, but with the kids gone and a gazillion pictures of my dogs, sometimes, my only subject is me and my phone.

There are also a few Heidi Swapp elements on the page, i.e. the butterfly which I misted with Primrose ColorShine.   The Fabric Frame is by Maggie Holmes.

The items stapled to the frame are digital elements from the Maggie Holmes line.  I simply downloaded them then used the print and cut feature of the Silhouette.
Again, this page consists mainly of Maggie Holmes digital elements cut with the Silhouette.
This is the flip side of the clear sheet.  I love how the photo from the previous page shows through.

One last close up of the details from this page.  I've still got more pages to finish in this section, but this is a good start.

Digital Card using Maggie Holmes digital kit.

I was so excited to see that Maggie Holmes now offers her line in digital!  I made this card entirely from her digital elements and papers which I imported to the Silhouette.  I am in love with this entire line!  I added just a little stitching around the black/white chevron paper and across the tag.  The "hello" is a stamp by Papertray Ink.

Humming Bird Layout using Heidi Swapp Stencils

First of all, this layout is WAY out of my comfort zone.  There is nothing about this layout that looks like "my style".  I wanted to play with the Heidi Swapp stencils and I wanted to use Kraft background.  My first version, I used white acrylic paint with the stencil to create the background, but the stark contrast make my pictures get lost in the layout.    So, I flipped the paper over and tried again.  I thought about using clear embossing powder, but I had a lot I wanted to cover.  I opted for Mod Podge in Matte finish.  I simply laid the stencil on top of my kraft paper and used mod podge and a sponge brush to randomly fill in the stencil.  After I removed the stencil I quickly dried it with my heat gun, then carefully laid the stencil back down and misted just parts of it with Gold Lame' color shine.

The green tag I used for journaling is actually the packaging of of some pretty fabric flowers.  I cut the humming bird with the Silhouette.

Like I said, totally out of my comfort zone, but sometimes, you need to experiment and try new things.  It's not my favorite layout, but I don't hate it either! :)

Heidi Swapp Memory File Adventure - Inspiration - Doug

And, of course,  I have to add Doug to my inspiration page.  He inspires me in so many ways.  He is one of the most patient people I have ever met in my life, seldom asks for anything and constantly tells me to slow down and enjoy the moment.

I loved the touch of the three hearts colored with Colorshine (black), Dylusions (red) and the small one I left uncolored.

All of these products can be purchased at http://scrappingclearly.com/au

Memory File Adventure - Inspiration - Heidi Swapp

Memory File Adventure with Heidi Swapp contines, and how could I possible do an inspiration section and not include her?  Any of you who follow me, know that she inspires me in most of my crafty life.  If I am not using a Heidi Swapp project, then I am certainly using at least a part of one of her creative ideas.

On this page I used a mod podge of products.  A little Heidi Swapp Serendipity, some Heidi Swapp Sugar Chic,  and a few odds and ends from my color drawers.

Here is a closer look at Heidi's page.

You can purchase the entire Heidi Swapp line at Scrapping Clearly

Memory File Adventure continues..... INSPIRATION section

This is another part of my Memory File Adventure.  This section is based on who/what inspires me.  I am struggling with this part.  My mother definitely inspired me.  She was a very strong, loving, independent, supportive mother.  She passed away several years ago.  She still inspires me everyday, even though she's no longer with me.  She definitely deserves a page in this section.  The part I am struggling with is where to go from here.  I could do what/who inspires me creatively? What/who inspires me to be a better person? What/who inspires me in so many ways.
I wanted to use this quote because it is so reflective of my mother.  She never, ever gave up in life and even with her illness.  She was always positive, upbeat and went wherever life took her without a complaint, without a tear and with great pride.

You will rarely see me use Prima flowers on my layouts.  I am not sure why, I like them when I see then on other people's layouts, but when I put them on mine, I just feel like they don't belong?  Do you have an item in your stash that you just can't seem to reflect your style with?  I gave it a shot here, but I am still not comfortable with them.

A sweet puppy layout featuring Pink Paislee, Heidi Swapp and a bit of this and that

I am happy to announce that I am now part of  the design team for Scrapping Clearly.    I am so excited to start creating with the amazing box of goodies Kylie (the owner of Scrapping Clearly) sent me.   This was a very simple layout using products available from Kylie's shop.  The base of the layout is by Pink Paislee, the flowers are Kaiser Craft and I used a few digital cuts by Heidi Swapp, as well as punches for the butterflies.
I just Love, Love, Love sewing on my projects and find that I sew on almost everything I do.

There is a touch of silver thread wrapped around the layout for a little extra added interest.  The strip of stamps is also by Pink Paislee.
